A BMS (Battery Management System) is a vital component in a lithium-ion or lithium polymer battery pack, which may have other two different name, PCB (Protection Circuit Board) and PCM (Protection Circuit Membrane). A BMS may monitor the state of a rechargeable battery as represented by various items, such as voltage, current, state of charge, depth of discharge and temperature. A BMS may report all the above data to an external device, using communication links such as CAN-Bus and DC-Bus. Most importantly, a BMS may protect its battery by preventing it from operating outside its safe operating area.
By integrating American technology with Japanese electronic IC, GEB developed a series of BMS for various applications, such as electric bicycle, motorcycle, electric cars, robot and industrial instrument. We have succeeded in realizing BMS that can manage large-capacity battery with current as high as 10,000 amperes, having output voltage from 12V to 380V. GEB's BMS has multiple functions including but not limited as followings:
1. Charge balance;
2. Over charge voltage protection;
3. Over discharge voltage protection;
4. Over discharge current protection;
5. Short-circuit protection;
6. Over temperature protection;
7. Customerization with more functions upon demands.
